Maintenance of the National and Provincial Road Network of the Rhodopes Region

In the context of assuming the duties of the new Sub-Region of Rodopi, we proceeded, in collaboration with the Technical Works Department of the Regional Unit of Rodopi, responsible for the maintenance of the National and Provincial Road Network, to record and on-site inspect the projects for the Improvement of the National and Provincial Road Network. The Technical Service, in the context of pursuing the smooth operation of the network and operating exclusively with the Sub-Region's own resources, proceeded with the following interventions:
• Healing of potholes with cold asphalt mixture throughout the National and Provincial Network.
• Restoration of safety barriers and signage throughout the road network under our responsibility.
• Snow removal mainly on the roads Darmeni – Ragada – Esochi and N. Santa – Kechros – Chloe.
• Immediate interventions during heavy rainfall to restore traffic and remove hazards, in the areas of Iasmos, Kopteros as well as in the network towards Kallinitirio.
• Restoration of an Irish crossing of the Lisos River in the Imeros region, using stone and cement, in the month of August.
• Restoration of the embankments on the Kompsatos River in the Salpi area and raising the embankment in Lofario,
• Opening and arrangement of certain parts of the Lisos River bed in the Deilini area,

A priority in the action of the Technical Service is to maintain accessibility in every area of ​​the Rhodope Regional Unit and the daily accessibility of even the most remote and inaccessible areas and under any weather conditions.
