PROGRAM OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE MOST MERCIFUL APOSTLE PAUL AND THE 11 1ST ANNIVERSARY

                                                                                                 SINCE THE LIBERATION OF KAVALA, IN 1913

For the celebration of the feast of the Patron Saint Apostle Paul and the 111th anniversary of the liberation of Kavala, in the year 1913, the following festive events are scheduled:

LIGHTING of the streets, squares, the city's Fortress and all Public and Municipal Offices, Public Legal Entity Offices and Banks and Organizations, during the evening hours from the 28th to the 29th of June 2024, taking care of energy saving in the context of the Minister of Economy/DEPEA/68315/502/01.07.2022 (Government Gazette 3424 B') Joint Ministerial Decree as in force.

GENERAL FLAG FLYING of all Public and Municipal Offices, Public Legal Entity Offices and Banks, Organizations, homes and private shops, from eight (8) in the morning of the 28th until sunset of the 29th of June 2024.

                                                                                                                       WEDNESDAY JUNE 26, 2024

10:00 Flag raising. Memorial prayer and wreath laying at the city's Monument in Kamares, near the old courthouse building (Administration Hall in 1913), in memory of the raising of the flag by Admiral Antonios Kriezis.

                                                                                                                    FRIDAY JUNE 28, 2024

19:00 Great Solemn Polyarchial Vespers at the Holy Cathedral of the Apostle Paul.

20:15 Arrival of dignitaries and presentation of awards, organized by the ΤΧΤΘΜ and the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Kavala.

20:30 Procession of the Holy Icon, at the "Steps of the Apostle Paul" through Omonia and Navarchou Pavlos Kountouriotou streets.

08:00 Official Flag Raising at Freedom Square.

07:00-10:30 Morning Prayer and Solemn, Polyarchial Divine Liturgy at the Holy Cathedral of the Apostle Paul.

10:15 Arrival of dignitaries and presentation of awards by the ΤΧΤΘΜ.

10:30 Doxology for the celebration of the 111th ^anniversary of the liberation of Kavala, at the Holy Cathedral of the Apostle Paul. The day's celebration will be delivered by Mr. Georgios Dalakouras, thematic Deputy Regional Governor for Health and Family Policy of PAMT.

11:15 Memorial Prayer and Laying of Wreaths at the city's Monument, by the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, the Members of Parliament, the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace, the Deputy Regional Governor of Kavala, the Mayor of Kavala, the General Commander of the 20th Armored Division, the Rector of the University of Thessaloniki, the Police Director of Kavala, the Commander of the 2nd Regional Command of the Coast Guard, the Commander of the Kavala Fire Services, Presidents of Branches of Retired Officers' Associations, Presidents of Disabled and Reservist Organizations, Representatives of National Resistance Fighters.

20:00 Bust of Admiral Konstantinos Kanaris, Paralia. The Regional Unit of Kavala co-organizes with the Center of Greek Folklore, "Neapolis" the 10th ^Panhellenic Festival of Greek Associations "Every Place and Dance", within the framework of Eleftheria. Dance groups of cultural associations from various regions of Greece and abroad participate.

                                                                                                                      SUNDAY, JUNE 30, 2024

21:00 Archaeological Site of Philippi . Devotional Service – Vigil in honor of the Holy Apostles in Ancient Philippi on the ruins of the early Christian Basilica I.

Regarding the Rites, the Holy Metropolis of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos is requested to regulate. Issues concerning the formation, awarding of honors, order, movement of vehicles, etc., are requested to be regulated by the competent Military, Police and Municipal Authorities.

We appoint Messrs. Philippia Kochliaridou and Sultana Farina, employees of the Regional Unit of Kavala, as well as an employee who will be appointed by the Municipal Police of the Municipality of Kavala, as masters of ceremonies.
