PROGRAM OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE MEMORIAL OF SAINT PAUL THE APOSTLE
AND THE 112TH ANNIVERSARY
SINCE THE LIBERATION OF KAVALA, IN 1913.

For the celebration of the feast of the Patron Saint of the Apostle Paul and the 112th anniversary of the liberation of Kavala, in the year 1913, the following festive events are scheduled:

• ILLUMINATIONS of the streets, squares, the city's Fortress and all Public and Municipal Offices, Public Legal Entity Offices and Banks and Organizations, during the evening hours from the 28th to the 29th of June 2025.
• GENERAL FLAGSHIP of all Public and Municipal Offices, Branches of Public Legal Entities and Banks, Organizations, homes and private shops, from eight (8) in the morning of the 28th until sunset of the 29th of June 2025.

THURSDAY JUNE 26, 2025

10:00 Flag raising, memorial service and laying of wreaths by the Deputy Governor of Kavala, the Mayor of Kavala and the General Commander of the 20th Military District, at the old city monument in Kamares, near the old courthouse building, in memory of the raising of the Greek flag by Admiral (P.N.) Antonios Kriezis.

SATURDAY JUNE 28, 2025

19:00 Great Solemn Polyarchial Vespers at the Holy Cathedral of Saint Apostle Paul.

19:45 Arrival of dignitaries and presentation of awards, organized by the ΤΧΤΘΜ and the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Kavala.

20:30 Procession of the Holy Icon, at the "Steps of the Apostle Paul" through Omonia and Navarchou Pavlos Kountouriotou streets.

Holy place – Monument of the Arrival of the Apostle Paul in Neapolis (next to the Church of Saint Nicholas).

20:50 Artoklasia.

SUNDAY, JUNE 29, 2025

08:00 Official Flag Raising at Freedom Square.

07:00-10:30 Morning Prayer and Solemn, Polyarchial Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Apostle Paul.

09:50 Arrival of dignitaries and presentation of awards by the ΤΧΤΘΜ.

10:30 Doxology for the celebration of the 112th anniversary of the liberation of Kavala, at the Holy Cathedral of Saint Apostle Paul. The day's celebration will be delivered by Mrs. Marina Filippidou-Maniou, Lawyer MSc and President of the Greek Women's Lyceum of Kavala.

11:15 Memorial Prayer and Laying of Wreaths at the city's Monument by the Members of Parliament, the Governor of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace, the Deputy Governor of Kavala, the Mayor of Kavala, the General Commander of the 20th Armored Division, the Rector of the University of Thessaloniki, the Police Director of Kavala, the Commander of the 2nd Regional Command of the Coast Guard, the Commander of the Kavala Fire Services, Presidents of Branches of Retired Officers' Associations, Presidents of Disabled and Reservist Organizations.

Observing a MINUTE OF SILENCE in memory of the gloriously fallen.

Singing of the National Anthem.

After the Ceremony.

20:20 Flag Raising Ceremony at Freedom Square.

21:00 Archaeological Site of Philippi. Vigil in honor of the Holy Apostles in Ancient Philippi on the ruins of the early Christian Basilica I.

Regarding the Rites, the Holy Metropolis of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos is requested to regulate. Issues concerning the formation, awarding of honors, order, movement of vehicles, etc., are requested to be regulated by the competent Military, Police and Municipal Authorities.

We appoint Messrs. Philippia Kochliaridou and Sultana Farina, employees of the Regional Unit of Kavala, as well as an employee who will be appointed by the Municipal Police of the Municipality of Kavala, as masters of ceremonies.

• From 29/06 to 06/07/2025, the Nautical Week events will take place in Kavala, based on the attached program.
• From 14/06 to 03/07/2025, the "FREEDOM 2025" events will take place based on the program issued by the Municipality of Kavala and which is attached.
