CELEBRATION PROGRAM

OF THE DAY OF THE MACEDONIAN STRUGGLE

 

On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Macedonian Struggle, the following events will take place in Kavala, on Sunday, October 13, 2024:

General flag decoration of Public, Regional and Municipal stores, Legal Entities, Banks, Legal Entities of the Prefecture, from sunrise to sunset on October 13, 2024.

Lighting of all Public, Regional and Municipal stores, Public Legal Entities, Banks, Public Legal Entities of the Prefecture, during the evening hours of October 13, 2024.

                                                               

OCTOBER 11 PREPARATION FOR OCTOBER

Delivering speeches in Primary Schools, Middle Schools and High Schools of the Prefecture, about the Macedonian Struggle, under the responsibility of the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education and the School Directorates.

 

SUNDAY 13 OCTOBER 2024

08:00 OFFICIAL FLAG RAISING at Eleftherias Square.

10:00 Awards ceremony organized by the ΤΧΤΘΜ and the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Kavala.

10:30 OFFICIAL DOXOLOGY at the Cathedral of the Apostle Paul, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos, Mr. Stefanos. The day's solemn service will be delivered by Mr. Georgiadis Pavlos, Lawyer and former President of the Municipal Council of Kavala.

11:15 Memorial Prayer and laying of wreaths at the city's Monument in honor of the fighters of the Macedonian Struggle, by the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, the Members of Parliament, the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace, the Deputy Regional Governor of Kavala, the Mayor of Kavala, the General Commander of the 20th Armored Division, the Central Port Authority of Kavala and other bodies.

Observance of a MINUTE OF SILENCE in memory of the gloriously fallen. Singing of the National Anthem.

18:05 FLAG RANKING at Freedom Square.

Regarding the Rites, the Holy Metropolis of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos is requested to make arrangements.

We appoint as masters of ceremonies Mrs. Philippia Kochliaridou, Sultana Farina, employees of the Regional Unit of Kavala and an employee of the Municipal Police of the Municipality of Kavala.
