For the celebration of the National Anniversary of March 25, 1821, in the city of Kavala, the following festive events are scheduled:

 

• GENERAL FLAGSHIP throughout the territory, from eight o'clock in the morning on the 23rd^th until sunset on the 25th^th March 2023.
• ILLUMINATIONS of all government branches, local authorities, legal entities and banks, during the evening hours of 24^th and 25^th March 2023, taking care of energy saving in the context of the Minister of Energy and Water Resources/DEPEA/68315/502/01.07.2022 (Government Gazette 3424 B') Joint Ministerial Decree, as in force.

Ceremonial events for Primary and Secondary Education Students and Pupils for the National Anniversary.

11:30 Laying of wreaths at the city's Monument by departments of Primary and Secondary Education, the Second Chance School and Tertiary Education, as well as by the Scouts and Greek Girl Guides departments, arriving led by professors, teachers and rank-and-file officers.

10:30 OFFICIAL DOXOLOGY at the Cathedral of the Apostle Paul, officiating

His Eminence Metropolitan of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos, Mr. Stefanos.

The day's celebratory speech will be delivered by Mr. Georgios Trikkaliotis, Director of the 1st ^High School of Kavala.

11:00 MEMORIAL WEDDING and WREATH-LAYING at the city's Monument by the Government Representative, the Members of Parliament, the Regional Governor of the Hellenic Republic of Thessaly, the Deputy Regional Governor of Kavala, the Mayor of Kavala, the General Commander of the 20th Armored Division, the Vice-Rector of the Hellenic University of Athens, the Director of the Kavala Police Directorate, the Commander of the 2nd Regional Command of the Coast Guard, the Commander of the Kavala Fire Services. Wreaths will also be laid by the reserve war organizations and, on behalf of the National Resistance, by the representatives of the branches of the recognized resistance organizations based in the prefecture.

The speaker at the speech was Mr. Konstantinos Logothetis, head of Physical Education and School Activities at Kavala Primary Education.

Katerina Drakou, Head of the Second Department of Economics of the Secondary Education Directorate of Kavala, will give a speech at the parade.

19:30 Opening of the Painting Exhibition "VISUAL NARRATIVE 1821" by the Old Scouts' Association of Kavala, under the auspices of the PAMT/PE of Kavala, in the Foyer of the "George Pavlidis" Amphitheater of the PE of Kavala.

Regarding the Rites, the Holy Metropolis of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos is requested to make arrangements.
