NATIONAL RESISTANCE CELEBRATION

For the Celebration of the National Resistance, in the city of Kavala, the following festive events are scheduled:

GENERAL FLAG HOLIDAY throughout the territory, from 8 am on November 24, 2024, the day of celebration of the anniversary of the National Resistance, until sunset.

LIGHTING of all government offices, local government offices, as well as the offices of public entities and banks, during the evening hours of November 24, 2024.

08:00 OFFICIAL FLAG RAISING at Freedom Square.

10:05 Price presentation by the Ministry of Finance.

10:15 OFFICIAL DOXOLOGY at the Cathedral of the Apostle Paul, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos, Mr. Stefanos. The day's solemn service will be delivered by Mr. Stylianos Ignatiadis, Delegated Advisor for Sports and Employment of PAMT, Regional Councilor of Kavala.

10:45 MEMORIAL WEDDING and WREATH-LAYING at the monument to the city's Heroes by the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, the Members of Parliament, the Deputy Governor of Kavala, the Mayor of Kavala, the General Commander of the 20th Armored Division, the political parties, the representatives of the resistance organizations and the political youth, as well as any representative of a legal entity or other entity who wishes to honor the National Resistance and the struggles against Nazism and fascism.

OBSERVING A MINUTE OF SILENCE IN MEMORY OF THE GLORIOUSLY FALLEN.

Regarding the Rites, the Holy Metropolis of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos is requested to regulate them. We appoint as masters of ceremonies Mrs. Philippia Kochliaridou, Sultana Farina, employees of the Regional Unit of Kavala and an employee of the Municipal Police of the Municipality of Kavala.
