ARMED FORCES DAY CELEBRATION

For the Celebration of Armed Forces Day, in the city of Kavala, the following festive events are scheduled:

Friday November 21 2025

GENERAL FLAG HOLIDAY throughout the territory, from 8 am until sunset on November 21, 2025.

LIGHTING of all government offices, local authorities, as well as the offices of public entities and banks, during the evening hours of November 21, 2025.

08:00 OFFICIAL FLAG RAISING at Freedom Square.

10:00 Price presentation by the Ministry of Finance.

10:30 OFFICIAL DOXOLOGY at the Cathedral of the Apostle Paul, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos, Mr. Stefanos. The day's solemn sermon will be delivered by Lieutenant Colonel (TT) Theodoros Kosmidis.

11:00 MEMORIAL WEDDING and WREATH-LAYING at the city's Monument by the Members of Parliament, the Governor of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace, the Deputy Governor of Kavala, the Mayor of Kavala, the General Commander of the 20th Armored Division, the Rector of the University of Thessaloniki, the Director of the Kavala Police Directorate, the Commander of the 2nd Regional Command of the Coast Guard, the Commander of the Kavala Fire Services, the President of the Union of Retired Officers, the President of the Federation of Disabled and War Victims of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace and the North Aegean Islands, the President of the National Union of Disabled and Victims War, the Presidents of the Resistance Organizations.

OBSERVING A MINUTE OF SILENCE IN MEMORY OF THE GLORIOUSLY FALLEN.

11:30 HONORARY RAISING OF THE FLAG by the General Commander of the ΤΧΤΘΜ at the bust of the Commander-in-Chief of the National Rebirth Theodoros Kolokotronis (Kavala Guard Officers' Club).

16:40 FLAG RANKING at Freedom Square.

19:30 ANNIVERSARY EVENT of the 20th Division in the context of the celebration of Armed Forces Day, at the Kavala Guard Officers' Club.

Regarding the Rites, the Holy Metropolis of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos is requested to make arrangements. We appoint as celebrants Mrs. Philippia Kochliaridou and Sultana Farina, employees of the Regional Unit of Kavala, as well as an employee to be appointed by the Municipal Police of the Municipality of Kavala.
