The " Public Health and Social Welfare Week 2025" of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, through the General Directorate of Public Health and Social Welfare of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, will take place in the five Regional Units of the Region, from 6 to 12 October 2025, with the aim of informing, preventing and promoting the health of citizens.

In his message, the Regional Governor, Mr. Christodoulos Topsidis, states: "Public Health is everyone's business. As a Region, we take an active role in strengthening prevention and awareness on physical and mental health issues. During the Public Health and Social Care Week, we develop a wide range of actions that respond to modern health challenges - from geriatric care and mental support to disease prevention, nutrition, physical exercise, support for employees and protection of the school community. We stand by the citizen with responsibility, knowledge and cooperation, building a Region that cares about the health and quality of life of every person."

Public Health and Social Care Week 2025 includes:

• Geriatric care actions, aimed at improving the quality of life of the elderly.
• Mental and social support programs to enhance mental resilience and social cohesion.
• Interventions to prevent communicable and non-communicable diseases, through information, screenings and distribution of materials.
• Educational seminars on healthy eating and exercise, with an emphasis on daily application.
• Speeches and actions on work burnout and the mental health of employees, aiming for healthier and more productive work environments.
• Health programs in the educational community, with special topics on addictions and student empowerment.

The actions will be implemented in collaboration with health institutions, education institutions, academics, health professionals, social, cultural, sports institutions and clubs, and the local government.
