The General Directorate of Transport and Communications is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the operation of all organic units under it, ensuring their smooth operation and addressing problems and matters within their competence. It must be in constant collaboration with the relevant ministry for the best possible response to problems and matters within their competence.
The Transport and Communications Directorates established in the Regional Units exercise all the responsibilities of the Transport and Communications sector, which have been assigned to the Regions in accordance with applicable legislation.

a. Marketing Authorization Department
The Department of Traffic Permits is responsible in particular for the inventory, classification, formation, approval, granting and execution of issues and questions concerning the circulation of vehicles and two-wheeled land transport, of a public and private nature.
b.Technical Department
The Technical Department is responsible in particular for the information, processing, control, monitoring, execution and issuance of administrative acts, concerning technical issues of vehicle service stations, technical data of cars, licenses to practice the profession of car mechanics, communications issues, as well as more general technical issues.
c.Driving License Department
The Department of Driving Licenses is responsible in particular for the information, control, execution, issuance, compilation, planning and supervision of all comprehensive operations concerning vehicle and two-wheeler driving licenses, as well as for issues of instructor training for prospective drivers.
d.MOT Department
The KTEO Department is responsible in particular for the periodic technical inspection of all vehicles, which concerns their safe circulation, as well as for special technical inspections, in order to ensure the protection of the environment.
e.Secretary Support Department
The Secretarial Support Department is responsible in particular for communication, information, receipt, control, transmission, information and handling of all administrative matters of the department.
The General Directorate of Transport & Communications includes all six (6) Directorates of Transport and Communications of the Regional Units. It also exists in Orestiada.
