General Information about the institution

Mission of a Regional Citizen and Business Supporter

The Regional Citizen and Business Supporter, according to article 179 of Law 3852/2010 (Kallikratis Program), "...receives complaints from directly affected citizens and businesses about mismanagement of the region's services, its legal entities and businesses and mediates in order to resolve relevant problems...".

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Regional Citizen and Business Supporter are described as follows:

  • Reception of complaints from directly affected citizens and businesses regarding maladministration by services, legal entities and businesses of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
  • Mediation to resolve problems arising from the above complaints.
  • Obligation to respond promptly (written or electronic) within 30 days to administrators.
  • Preparation of an annual report summarizing the activities of the regional authority and its presentation and discussion at the special public meeting of the Regional Council.
  • Formulation of proposals for improving the administration of the Regional Administration and its relations with the public, both in the context of its annual report and in relation to significant problems of misadministration identified by it.

The following are not within its competence:

  • The services of the Municipality and Municipal Enterprises.
  • The services of the Decentralized Region
  • The Insurance Funds.
  • The Ephorates.
  • The Detention Facilities (Prisons).
  • The Police.
  • The Public Power Corporation, ELTA, OAED, etc.

The term of office of the Regional Citizen and Business Supporter follows the term of office of the regional authorities.

Submit a report/complaint

The submission of a report/complaint is done in one of the following ways and must contain the full details of the complainant/complainant, signature, his/her request and the body against which the report is made:
