Legal Service
The Legal Service of the AMTH Region, based in Komotini, operates at Department level and is responsible for the legal support of the Region in all its cases, judicial or extrajudicial, and for the legal guidance of its bodies and services with opinions and advice. Furthermore, it is responsible for the legal support of its employees in accordance with the applicable legislation.
The Head of the Legal Service is responsible for coordinating the work of the Service, its distribution and the convergence of the plenary session.
In particular, the Legal Service exercises the following responsibilities:
a) Appearance before the courts for the legal support of the Region and its employees.
b) Formulation of proposals on legal issues related to the operation of the Region.
c) Opinion on issues referred to it by the competent bodies, within the framework of their decision-making powers.
Legal Service Offices operate at the Headquarters of the Regional Units of Evros, Xanthi and Drama, in order to represent the Region and its employees before the judicial and administrative authorities, in accordance with the applicable legislation. The Offices exercise the responsibilities of the Legal Service of the Regional Unit of Athens, respectively.
