Information Bulletin on the increase in the waters of the Ardas River

Due to the imminent increase in the waters of the Arda River from the overflow of the Ivaylograd Dam in Bulgaria due to increased rainfall and snowfall in the neighboring country and the increased amounts of water in the Erythropotamos River, to avoid any accidents, we kindly ask you to:

 

1. The Mayors on the list of eligible for action:

To immediately inform the residents of their areas (Farmers - Stockbreeders - Fishermen - Hunters, etc.):

• Do not approach the ARDA and ERYTHROPOTAMOS rivers and their embankments (dangerous areas).

• To promptly remove all types of livestock - machinery and their tools from dangerous areas.

 

2. THE NATIONAL DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMY & VETERINARY MEDICINE OF ORESTIADA

* To promptly inform the Presidents of the PREFECTURE TOEB-GOEB on the adoption of planned measures to avoid damage to projects under their responsibility (Irrigation Pumping Stations - Drainage networks, etc.).

* To inform the livestock units in its area of ​​responsibility.

 

3. THE TECHNICAL WORKS DEPARTMENT OF EVROS

To allocate personnel and resources for the timely supervision/monitoring of embankments and flood control projects.

 

4. The PAMT/DNSI CIVIL PROTECTION, through the Civil Protection Department of the EVROS Regional Government, is monitoring the issue and will inform you of any developments regarding it in a new document.

 

5. The ΧVI M/K MP/3rd EG – ΧΙΙ M/K MP/3rd EG and the 50th MECH.TAX./3rd EG are requested to inform the Civil Protection Department of the EVROS Regional Directorate of any developments on the matter.
