2,2 million euros from the AMTH Region for places in kindergartens

By decision of the Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Christos Metios, the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace is allocating 2.201.246 euros from its Operational Program to secure places in kindergartens for children from families living below the poverty line.
The Region's funding specifically concerns positions in public and private nurseries, nurseries, daycare centers and creative employment centers throughout Eastern Macedonia and Thrace for the 2019-2020 school year.
In this way, the Region supports families living below the poverty line by giving the parents and guardians of children who will be hosted in the daycare centers the opportunity to continue working or looking for work.
On the occasion of the signing of the decision, Mr. Metios visited the 4th municipal nursery school of Komotini, together with the Deputy Governor of Rodopi, Mr. Nikos Tsalikidis, and was given a tour of the site and briefed on the operation of these structures by the Mayor of Komotini, Mr. Yiannis Garanis, and the director of the station, Ms. Roxani Zargiani.
